World Art Day is observed every year on April 15 to recognize and celebrate the universal language of art. This day honors Leonardo da Vinci’s birth anniversary, symbolizing creativity, peace, and freedom of expression. It highlights the significance of art in nurturing cultural diversity, community bonding, emotional well-being, and artistic freedom. Initiated by the International Association of Art (IAA) in 2012, this global event aims to promote art education and honor artists across all disciplines.

2025 Theme: “Art for Unity and Healing”

Every year, Himachal Day is celebrated on April 15 to mark the creation of Himachal Pradesh as a province in independent India. It is an important day that highlights the rich cultural heritage, development journey, and unity of the people of Himachal Pradesh. The state, known as the “Apple State of India,” is also a top tourist destination with stunning landscapes, snow-capped mountains, and vibrant traditions. 2025 marks the 78th Himachal Day, and it is observed as a public holiday in the state.

Saurabh Chaudhary, a 22-year-old shooter from Uttar Pradesh, made a remarkable comeback to the Indian shooting team by clinching a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup in Lima, Peru (April 2025). Competing in a star-studded final featuring Olympic champions, he demonstrated resilience in a low-scoring and tightly contested match. This was his first individual World Cup medal in over two years, marking a strong return to international form.

Indian middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer has been awarded the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2025, recognizing his stellar performance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He was instrumental in India’s title-winning campaign, amassing 243 runs in the tournament. Iyer edged out New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra to secure the award. The Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2025 is set to be held in Bihar for the first time from May 4 to May 15, 2025, marking a significant milestone for the state. The event, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Patna, will not only promote a sporting culture but also strengthen Bihar’s sports infrastructure and provide a national platform for budding athletes. The launch ceremony on April 14, 2025, witnessed the unveiling of the event logo, mascot, and theme song by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

Incumbent Ecuadorean President Daniel Noboa has secured a second four-year term in the country’s presidential elections. The Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has announced that his country is withdrawing from the International Criminal Court (ICC). Hungary is the first European country to withdraw from the International Criminal Court, which was established in 2002. The decision to withdraw from the ICC was announced by Viktor Orbán in the presence of the visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is on a four-day official visit to Hungary.
