Rajasthan Day, also known as Rajasthan Foundation Day, is celebrated on March 30 every year to commemorate the formation of the state. On this day in 1949, the princely states of Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer merged with the United State of Rajasthan, leading to the creation of Greater Rajasthan. Formerly called Rajputana, Rajasthan is India’s largest state by area and is known for its rich cultural heritage, historical significance, and architectural marvels.

Eid-ul-Fitr, also known as Ramzan Eid or Meethi Eid, is a very important festival for Muslims. It marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which people keep fasts dawn to dusk. Anahat Singh & Kareem El Torkey Win Indian Open 2025 Squash Titles

The Indian Open 2025 PSA Copper event, held at Bombay Gymkhana, Mumbai, from March 24-28, 2025, saw Anahat Singh and Kareem El Torkey clinch the women’s and men’s singles titles, respectively. This was Anahat Singh’s 11th PSA title, reinforcing her dominance as India’s number one-ranked women’s squash player. Meanwhile, Egypt’s Kareem El Torkey, ranked world no. 64, triumphed over India’s Abhay Singh in the men’s final. The $53,500 prize money event was the highest-rated PSA tournament in India since 2018 and marked the first-ever PSA Copper event hosted in the country.

Indian Air Force to Participate in INIOCHOS-25: A Multi-Nation Air Exercise

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will participate in Exercise INIOCHOS-25, a prestigious multi-national air exercise hosted by the Hellenic Air Force at Andravida Air Base, Greece, from March 31 to April 11, 2025. The IAF contingent will include Su-30 MKI fighters, IL-78 aerial refuelers, and C-17 transport aircraft. This biennial exercise brings together air forces from 15 countries to enhance interoperability, tactical expertise, and combat readiness.

The government has officially appointed Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Nidhi Tiwari as the Private Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued a memorandum on March 29, 2025, confirming her appointment with immediate effect.

Punjab to Develop Nangal as a Tourist Hub & Jhajjar Bachauli as the First Leopard Safari

The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has announced major initiatives to boost tourism and wildlife conservation in the state. Nangal will be developed into a major tourist hub, with an initial budget of Rs. 10 crore, while Jhajjar Bachauli Wildlife Sanctuary in Sri Anandpur Sahib will be transformed into Punjab’s first leopard safari destination. These initiatives are part of the ‘Badalda Punjab’ Budget 2025-26, presented by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, which also allocates a special budget for the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. The projects aim to enhance tourism, preserve biodiversity, create employment, and uplift cultural heritage in Punjab.

Japan to Grant Crypto Assets Legal Status as Financial Products: Report

Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) is planning to revise the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act to grant crypto assets legal recognition as financial products. This move aims to enhance regulatory oversight, including the introduction of insider trading restrictions on cryptocurrency transactions. The FSA is expected to submit a bill to the Japanese parliament as early as 2026.
