Amit Singh Negi appointed Additional Secretary in PM’s Office

Senior IAS officer Amit Singh Negi has been appointed additional secretary in the PMO as part of a major top-level reshuffle effected by the Centre.  A 1999-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttarakhand cadre, Mr Negi is currently joint secretary in the Department of Expenditure under the Union Ministry of Finance.

Singapore Airlines Receives Approval For Vistara-Air India Merger

Singapore Airlines on August 30, said it has received approval from the Indian government for the foreign direct investment as part of the proposed merger of Vistara with Air India. This deal will create one of the world’s largest airline groups. With the clearance in place, the merger that will see Singapore Airlines acquiring a 25.1 per cent stake in Air India, is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The proposed merger was announced in November 2022.

Amazon launches AI assistant chatbot ‘Rufus’ in India

Ecommerce major Amazon India has launched its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered shopping assistant ‘Rufus’ in India. Rufus is currently available in beta mode in India, and available only to some customers. The assistant can help shoppers get product recommendations, access shopping list advice, compare product categories and see what other customers have said in response to their specific questions.
