The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has appointed Mr. Ashutosh Gowariker as the Festival Director for the 57th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). 57th IFFI set to be scheduled to held in Goa in the month of November 2026. Gowariker is known for his iconic films and storytelling approach. He will bring the fresh vision and creative depth to one of the Asia’s big festival.

Indian men’s badminton team have delivered the sensational performance at the Thomas Cup 2026 and they have defeated the Chinese Taipei 3-0 in Horsens in Denmark. After this win they have enter in to the semi-finals and now they have secured the medal. This will marks only the second time when the India has reached the last four stage and reaffirmed the growing dominance in the global badminton after they have won their historic title win in the year 2022.

The Government of India has appointed Rohit Jain as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for the tenure of three years. His appointment finalized after the approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). His appointment will take the effect from the May 3, 2026 and he will succeeds T Rabi Sankar. T Rabi Sankar term has recently concluded and government appointed Rohit Jain as new Deputy Governor of RBI.

Mr. Bharat Khera has assumed charge as the Secretary of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). He is the 1995-batch IAS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre and he brings over the three decades of governance experience across the crucial sectors. He will play the important role to strengthen the MSME sector as the MSME sector contributes over the 30% to India’s GDP which paly the central role to country’s economic growth.

Mr. Vishvajit Sahay has assumed the charge as the Secretary (Defense Finance) in the Ministry of Defense. He will play the significant role to strengthen the India’s defense financial governance and strategic decision-making framework. Earlier he also served as the Controller General of Defense Accounts (CGDA) in the same ministry.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 594-km-long Ganga Expressway, the longest expressway in Uttar Pradesh, connecting Meerut to Prayagraj. The expressway has been developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) to boost connectivity and regional development. It passes through 12 districts, including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj.
