Vivek Chaturvedi is Appointed as New CBIC Chairman, Assumes Office on December 1

The Government of India has appointed Vivek Chaturvedi, a 1990-batch Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer, as the new Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). His selection was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as mentioned in an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT). Vivek Chaturvedi is a senior IRS officer with more than 30 years of experience in the field of indirect taxes. Over the years, he has worked in several key positions, contributing to tax administration, compliance, and policy matters.
Air Marshal Tejbir Singh Takes Over as Director General (Inspection & Safety)

Air Marshal Tejbir Singh has assumed the position of Director General (Inspection and Safety) [DG (I&S)] at the Air Headquarters on 01 December 2025. This appointment marks another milestone in his distinguished journey in the Indian Air Force (IAF). With an illustrious service record of 37 years, Air Marshal Tejbir Singh has held several important command and staff roles. His experience includes serving as Air Attaché to Bangladesh, Senior Directing Staff at the National Defence College in New Delhi, and Assistant Chief of Air Staff Operations (Transport & Helicopters) at Air Headquarters.
Paschal Donohoe Appointed MD and CKO of the World Bank Group

World Bank Group announced the appointment of Paschal Donohoe as its new Managing Director and Chief Knowledge Officer, marking a pivotal leadership addition to the global development institution. Donohoe, a seasoned European policymaker and public servant, will officially assume his role on November 24, bringing over two decades of experience in both public administration and the private sector to the World Bank’s mission of ending poverty and boosting shared prosperity.
Ramprasad Sridharan Appointed Managing Director of PUMA India

Ramprasad Sridharan has been appointed as the Managing Director of PUMA India from December, succeeding Karthik Balagopalan who chose to pursue new interests. Sridharan will report directly to Matthias Bäumer, PUMA’s Chief Commercial Officer, and brings over 25 years of experience in brand building, digital growth, and commercial strategy across the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to PUMA, he was CEO and Managing Director at United Colors of Benetton India and has held senior leadership roles at Clarks and Reebok India.

India Re-Elected to IMO Council with Highest Votes

India achieved a major diplomatic and maritime milestone on November 28, 2025, as it was re-elected to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council in Category B, securing 154 out of 169 valid votes — the highest vote tally in its category. This marks India’s second consecutive term as the top-voted nation in Category B, solidifying its growing role as a global maritime power. The election took place during the 34th IMO Assembly held in London, and India’s performance reinforces its emergence as a policy influencer in international shipping, backed by the Amrit Kaal Maritime Vision 2047.
