World No Tobacco Day 2026
On 31st May every year world observes the World No Tobacco Day to raise the awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use encourage global action against nicotine addiction. This day was established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the year 1987 and the campaign serves as the reminder of health, social, economic and environmental consequences of tobacco consumption. The 2026 theme is ‘Unmasking the Appeal: Countering Nicotine and Tobacco Addiction’ and focuses on exposing the tactics used by the tobacco and nicotine industry to attract the new users.

RCB Win IPL 2026 Final by 5 Wickets, Defend Title Against Gujarat Titans
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 title by defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) by 5 wickets in the final played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. After winning the toss, RCB opted to bowl first and restricted Gujarat Titans to 155/8 in 20 overs. Washington Sundar was the top scorer for GT with an unbeaten 50 runs off 37 balls, while Rasikh Salam Dar starred for RCB with 3 wickets for 27 runs. Chasing 156 runs for victory, RCB successfully reached the target with five wickets in hand to defend their IPL crown and become back-to-back champions.

He had a exceptional naval career spanning nearly 39 years Admiral Swaminathan brings the extensive operational, strategic and leadership experience. The Indian Navy witnessed the major leadership transition on 31st May 2026 as the Admiral Krishna Swaminathan formally took charge as the India’s top naval commander.
Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan Takes Charge as Chief of Western Naval Command
Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan has assumed as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C) in Western Naval Command on 30st May, 2026 in Mumbai. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Vice Chief of the Naval Staff at Naval Headquarters in New Delhi. Bengaluru Surpasses Mumbai to Become India’s Second-Busiest Domestic Airport
The Kempegowda International Airport of Bengaluru has overtaken the Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and become the India’s second busiest domestic airport. As per the recent passenger traffic data, Bengaluru had handled the more domestic passengers than Mumbai in April 2026. Despite the competition between Bengaluru and Mumbai intensifies, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport remains as the India’s busiest airport by a significant margin in both domestic and overall passenger traffic categories.
