Verstappen Secures First Victory Since May at 2025 Italian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen won the Italian Grand Prix 2025 (Monza), marking his first victory since May and his third win of the season, after also setting the fastest lap in Formula 1 history to secure pole position. McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri finished second and third respectively, with Norris narrowing the title race gap to Piastri to 31 points.

Acharya Devvrat Gets Additional Charge as Maharashtra Governor

In a significant administrative reshuffle, Acharya Devvrat, the Governor of Gujarat, has been assigned the additional charge of Maharashtra. This development follows the election of C. P. Radhakrishnan as Vice-President of India, which led to the gubernatorial post in Maharashtra falling vacant. The President of India, acting under constitutional provisions, appointed Devvrat to temporarily oversee the duties of Maharashtra’s Governor, alongside his existing responsibilities in Gujarat. This move ensures the continuity of constitutional and executive functions in the state until a new, full-time Governor is formally appointed.

CP Radhakrishnan Sworn In as India’s 15th Vice President

CP Radhakrishnan officially assumed office as the 15th Vice President of India on September 12, 2025. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office at a ceremony attended by several top dignitaries, marking Radhakrishnan’s entry as the second-highest constitutional authority in the country.

Purple Fest 2025 Celebrates Inclusion and Empowerment

Held on 10–11 September 2025, Purple Fest 2025 brought together people, purpose, and policy to celebrate the creativity, resilience, and achievements of Divyangjan—persons with disabilities. Organized by the Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC) in collaboration with Amity University, Noida, the event showcased a powerful message: disability is not a limitation, but a different kind of strength. The festival was inaugurated by Ms. Manmeet Kaur Nanda, Additional Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), and Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University.

IIM Ahmedabad Launches First Global Campus in Dubai

In a historic step toward the internationalisation of Indian higher education, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) inaugurated its first international campus in Dubai on 11 September 2025. The ceremony was jointly led by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education, Government of India. Namo Bharat Becomes India’s Fastest Train

India has officially entered the era of rapid regional transit with Namo Bharat, the nation’s fastest train, clocking a top speed of 160 km/h. Operating on the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), this high-speed marvel connects two key urban centers in under 60 minutes, redefining daily commuting in northern India. India Launches World’s First Digital Tribal University ‘Adi Sanskriti’

Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey launched the world’s first Digital Tribal University, Adi Sanskriti, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Adi Sanskriti is a digital academy and e-learning platform with an online marketplace for tribal art, culture, crafts, and knowledge systems for both national and global audiences. The initiative aims to preserve tribal heritage, create livelihood opportunities, and empower communities while promoting dignity and cultural preservation at the grassroots level.
