Every year on June 3, the world celebrates World Bicycle Day to recognize the bicycle’s role as a simple, affordable, and eco-friendly mode of transport. Observed globally since its official declaration by the United Nations in 2018, the day is an opportunity to highlight the health benefits, economic accessibility, and environmental sustainability of cycling. World Bicycle Day 2025, falling on a Friday, marks the fourth consecutive global celebration of this unique initiative, championed originally by Professor Leszek Sibilski.

In a significant development for the Indian Air Force (IAF), Air Marshal Jasvir Singh Mann has officially taken over as the Senior Air Staff Officer (SASO) of the Western Air Command (WAC). The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended Asheesh Pandey as the new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Union Bank of India and Kalyan Kumar as the MD and CEO of Central Bank of India.
