Jharkhand Foundation Day 2024

Jharkhand Foundation Day is celebrated on November 15th each year. This day marks the formation of Jharkhand as the 28th state of India in the year 2000. Before becoming a separate state, Jharkhand was part of South Bihar. November 15th is also special as it is the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, a respected tribal leader and freedom fighter. Before 2000, Jharkhand was part of Bihar. Many tribal communities in the region wanted their own state because they felt they were not treated fairly and lacked proper representation. This desire for a separate identity led to a strong movement that lasted for many decades. The demand for a separate state began as early as the early 1900s, with tribal leaders pushing for the recognition of their unique culture and traditions.

Successful Flight Trials for DRDO’s Pinaka Weapon System

India ships first batch of Akash Weapon system to Armenia

In a significant milestone for the indigenous Indian defence sector, the first batch of the indigenously developed surface-to-air missile system Akash, was shipped to Armenia. The indigenously developed and manufactured Akash system is part of a deal under which India is to supply 15 Akash systems to Armenia. This is the second missile system to be exported from India after India sold the supersonic Brahmos cruise missile to the Philippines.

First Bodoland Mohotsov to Be Inaugurated by PM in Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first-ever Bodoland Mohotsov on 15th November at 6:30 PM at the SAI Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi. The two-day festival, which will be held on 15th and 16th November, will celebrate the rich culture and heritage of the Bodoland region. The Prime Minister will also address the gathering during the inauguration.

World’s first high-altitude para sports centre to come up in Leh

The world’s first high-altitude para sports centre will be established in Leh, Ladakh, aiming to advance the skills and confidence of athletes ahead of the 2028 Paralympics. A Memorandum and Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, and the Aditya Mehta Foundation (AMF).
