Sanjeev Raina Appointed ITBP Additional Director General
Sanjeev Raina, a senior officer from the 1987 batch of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), has been appointed as the Additional Director General (ADG) of the ITBP. He will be specifically responsible for overseeing the forces along the India-China Line of Actual Control (LAC). This is a significant event because he is only the second officer who is not from the Indian Police Service (IPS) to reach this high rank in the history of the ITBP. The ITBP was created in 1962, mainly to handle mountain warfare and protect the borders.

Mumbai Ranks 2nd, New Delhi 3rd In Global Property Price Index
Mumbai and Delhi are at the second and third positions, respectively, among 44 cities globally in annual price rise of prime residential properties during the June quarter, Knight Frank said in a report. The annual price growth across the 44 cities globally slowed to 2.6 per cent in the second quarter of the 2024 calendar year, from 4.1 per cent in the preceding quarter, real estate consultant Knight Frank report said.
Sri Lanka announces visa-free access to Indians, nationals from 34 other countries from Oct 31
The Sri Lankan government has announced visa-free access to citizens from 35 countries, including India, the U.K. and the U.S. to the island nation for six months. Countries on the list include India, the U.K., China, the U.S., Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Australia, Denmark, Poland, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Nepal, Indonesia, Russia, and Thailand.
Amul – World’s Strongest Food Brand in 2024
Amul was honored as the world’s strongest food brand by Brand Finance, a leading brand valuation firm. Amul achieved this recognition with a high Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 91 and a brand valuation of $3.3 billion. This is a significant achievement, reflecting an 11% increase in brand value compared to the previous year, 2023. Amul is a major player in India’s dairy market, holding large shares in several key areas. It controls 75% of the milk market, 85% of the butter market, and 66% of the cheese market in India.
JGU to establish India’s First Constitution Museum for 75th Anniversary of Constitution
P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is set to launch India’s first Constitution Museum, marking the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India. The museum, named “The Constitution Academy and The Rights & Freedoms Museum,” will be inaugurated on November 26, 2024, at the JGU campus.
