The Indian women’s national volleyball team has once again proven their mettle on the international stage by clinching the gold medal at the 4th CAVA (Central Asian Volleyball Association) Women’s Volleyball Nations League. Neeraj Chopra Clinches Silver in Javelin at Paris 2024 Olympics

Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Olympic champion, put on an impressive display at the Paris Olympics, winning the silver medal in the men’s javelin throw event. Chopra’s season-best throw of 89.45m earned him the runner-up position, but he was unable to defend his title, as Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem broke the Olympic record with a stunning throw of 92.97m. Chopra, who was the defending champion coming into the competition, was unable to replicate his gold-medal-winning performance from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. DBS Appoints Tan Su Shan As First Female CEO

Indian-origin top Singapore banker Piyush Gupta is set to step down as the Chief Executive Officer of the DBS Group in March 2025. He will be succeeded by Tan Su Shan, who was appointed Deputy CEO yesterday, in addition to being Group Head, Institutional Banking, at DBS.

Amit Singh Negi appointed Additional Secretary in PM’s Office

Senior IAS officer Amit Singh Negi has been appointed additional secretary in the PMO as part of a major top-level reshuffle effected by the Centre.  A 1999-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttarakhand cadre, Mr Negi is currently joint secretary in the Department of Expenditure under the Union Ministry of Finance.

Kailashnathan Sworn in as 25th Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry

Kailashnathan took the oath as the 25th Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. The oath was administered by the Acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, D. Krishnakumar. Kailashnathan, a retired Gujarat cadre IAS officer, is the first full-time Lt. Governor of Puducherry since Kiran Bedi left in 2021.
