Kashmir City Receives World Craft City Certificate from World Crafts Council
In a grand ceremony held in Srinagar, the capital of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Kashmir City was awarded the prestigious Certificate of World Craft City by the World Crafts Council International. This significant event was graced by the presence of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Sa’ad Hani Al-Qaddumi, President of the World Crafts Council, and other notable personalities from the council. This recognition came after the World Crafts Council announced its decision in June 2024 to include Kashmir in its World Craft City list.

Indian Air Force Approves Production of Astra Mark 1 Missiles
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has recently given Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) the go-ahead to manufacture 200 Astra Mark 1 air-to-air missiles. Noah Lyles Wins U.S. Men’s 100-Meter Olympic Gold in 20 Years
American sprinter Noah Lyles clinched gold in the men’s 100-meter sprint at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The race was one of the closest in Olympic history, with Lyles finishing just 0.005 seconds ahead of Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson. Lyles’ time of 9.784 seconds narrowly beat Thompson’s 9.789 seconds. Team USA’s Fred Kerley secured bronze with a time of 9.81 seconds.

Kelly Ortberg appoints as new CEO of Boeing
Longtime aerospace executive Robert “Kelly” Ortberg has been selected as the CEO of Boeing. She will replace Dave Calhoun. Ortberg, 64, started his career at Texas Instruments before joining Rockwell Collins, an aviation tech company, in 1987.

The protests over the controversial job quota order escalated into into wider calls for her ouster. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has stepped down from office, ending 15 years of what the opposition says was “authoritarian rule” and sparking celebrations across the country.
