Sourav Ganguly Joins ICC Hall of Fame: Complete List of Indian Cricketers Inducted Till 2026

On 8th of July, 2026 the former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly was inducted into the prestigious ICC Hall of Fame. He became the 12th Indian cricketer to receive one of the world’s cricket big honour. He is known for transforming Indian cricket with his leadership style, aggressive approach. Now he joins an elite group of legends that includes MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, and Anil Kumble.

DoT’s Samriddh Gram Wins WSIS Prize 2026 for Driving Rural Digital Transformation

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) of India has secured the prestigious WSIS Prize 2026 for the its flagship Samriddh Gram: Integrated Phygital Service Delivery Model which is enabled by the BharatNet initiative. This award was presented during the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2026 in Geneva under Action Line C6 – Enabling Environment.

Narendra Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Parliament of Indonesia, where he called for a new era in bilateral relations based on shared civilisational heritage, democratic values, and a common future vision. PM Modi highlighted the over 2,000 years of India–Indonesia civilisational ties through trade, culture, ideas, and maritime connections, and emphasized shared values such as “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The World is One Family) and Indonesia’s motto “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” (Unity in Diversity).

Delhi to Make Pink Saheli Smart Card Mandatory for Free Bus Travel from Aug, 1

The Pink Saheli Smart Card is a digital travel card for women and transgender commuters in Delhi. From 1 August 2026, it will be mandatory for free bus travel on Delhi Transport Corporation and cluster buses, while pink paper tickets will remain valid only until 31 July 2026. The Pink Saheli Smart Card was launched on 2 March 2026 by President Droupadi Murmu. The card is linked to the Centre’s One Nation, One Card framework and the National Common Mobility Card platform. The scheme covers women and transgender residents of Delhi aged 12 years and above.

ICMR to Set Up India’s First High-Altitude Medicine Centre

The Indian Council of Medical Research is establishing India’s first dedicated centre for high-altitude medicine and public health research in Himachal Pradesh. The ICMR Centre for High Altitude Medicine and Public Health Research will come up at Keylong in the Lahaul and Spiti district and will upgrade the existing ICMR field station into a multidisciplinary research hub. Keylong is the headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh and lies at high altitude in the western Himalayas. The new centre will function as a research, innovation, and capacity-building facility under the Indian Council of Medical Research, which is India’s apex body for biomedical research.
