GST Day 2026: 9 Years of India’s Landmark Tax Reform Explained

As the Goods and Services Tax (GST) completes nine years after its launch on 1st of July in the year 2017. GST has also transformed the India’s indirect tax system by replacing the multiple central and state taxes with the unified framework. It introduced under the vision of the “One Nation, One Tax,” and GST has simplified taxation and it has strengthened the cooperative federalism and it also improved the tax compliance through digital governance. In the year 2025, GST 2.0 brings the major reforms aimed at to simplifying tax rates, reducing the compliance burdens and supporting the consumers, MSMEs, exporters, and farmers.
CA Day 2026

On 1st of July 2026, CA Day, which is also known as the Chartered Accountants Day will be celebrated all around the India. This day commemorates the establishment of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in the year 1949 under the Act of Parliament. U.P. Rajeev Appointed Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre

P. Rajeev has been appointed as the Director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, one of the leading centres of Indian Space Research Organisation. Previously serving as Associate Director (Research and Development) at VSSC, Dr. Rajeev has extensive expertise in rocket guidance and control systems and has led mission design and simulation for several major ISRO launch vehicles.
Ravi Agrawal Reappointed as CBDT Chairman: Centre Extends Tenure Till December 2026

The central government of has reappointed Ravi Agrawal as the Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). His tenure was extended for another six months and will be effective from 1st of July, 2026. This decision was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and it extends the tenure till December 31, 2026 or until any further orders.

Florence Rabier Receives WMO’s Highest Honour – IMO Prize

Florence Rabier of France has been awarded the IMO Prize, the highest honour of the World Meteorological Organization, for her outstanding contributions to numerical weather prediction and advancing meteorological services. A former Director of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (2016–2025) and current Non-Executive Director of the Met Office, Dr. Rabier played a key role in integrating artificial intelligence, satellite data, and open-data systems into weather forecasting.
Team India Wins 5 Medals at Global Skills Challenge Australia 2026, Strengthening WorldSkills Shanghai Preparations

India have secured five medals at the Global Skills Challenge (GSC) Australia 2026, as India clinched three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze and it marks India’s one of the most strongest performances at the international event. It was held from 23rd to 29th June, 2026 and this competition brought together the talented young professionals from 16 WorldSkills member nations.
