On 10th of May, 2026 Mother’s Day to be celebrated across the world on Sunday. This day honors the unconditional love, sacrifices and support of mothers and maternal figures. This occasion is also dedicated to recognize the important role of mothers play to shaping lives, nurturing families and by supporting society with care, strength and compassion.

National Technology Day is observed in India on 11 May every year. The day commemorates the Pokhran-II nuclear tests of 1998, which were conducted at the Pokhran Test Range in Rajasthan on 11 May and 13 May 1998. Pokhran-II was also called Operation Shakti. The series included five nuclear detonations, with three underground tests carried out on 11 May 1998 and two additional fission tests on 13 May 1998. The tests included a 45-kiloton thermonuclear device, a 15-kiloton fission device, and a 0.2-kiloton sub-kiloton device.

The DRDO and the Indian Air Force successfully executed the maiden flight test of the Tactical Advanced Range Augmentation (TARA) system at the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur. This indigenous project focuses on significantly enhancing the precision and effective range of existing aerial munitions through advanced propulsion and guidance modules. During the trials, the system demonstrated high accuracy in hitting long-distance targets, validating its aerodynamic stability and structural integrity.

The actor turned politician C. Joseph Vijay was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of the State of Tamil Nadu on 10th of May, 2026. India has launched the first Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system in Gujarat. This system was implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and it went live at the Chorayasi Toll Plaza on the Surat–Bharuch stretch of NH-48. On the opening day around 41,500 vehicles passed through seamlessly without stopping and it marks the important shift towards the faster, smarter and technology driven toll collection.

This declaration was made during a national conclave in Gangtok, Sikkim and highlighting the India’s push towards digital justice delivery.
