India’s first Advanced 3D Semiconductor Packaging Unit in Bhubaneswar
India is advancing its Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision by establishing a vertically integrated ATMP (Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging) facility (first advanced 3D chip packaging facility in Bhubaneswar, Odisha by breaking ground on April 20, 2026) to bolster the domestic semiconductor ecosystem. With India currently importing over 90% of its chips, this initiative reduces import reliance and secures supply chains against global disruptions. The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) and programs like Digital India RISC-V support this shift, fostering indigenous processors such as SHAKTI. By integrating global collaborations like iCET and state policies, India aims to become a global electronics hub, powering AI, 5G, and defense sectors.
Ladakh to Get India’s First Petroglyph Conservation Park to Safeguard Cultural Heritage
India’s first Petroglyph Conservation Park is set to be developed at the Sindhu Ghat in Ladakh. The foundation stone was laid on the April 18th, 2026 and the event coinciding with World Heritage Day and it was laid by Vinai Kumar Saxena. This initiative aims to protect the centuries-old rock carvings which is known as petroglyphs. As they are under threat from the environmental factors and human activities and marks the significant step to preserving the India’s ancient cultural legacy.
