World Heritage Day 2026

Every on the 18th of April the world observes the World Heritage Day which is also known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites. This day is observed to celebrate and protect the humanity’s shared cultural and natural legacy. In the 2026 the focus has become more urgent than ever earlier as the global conflicts and disasters threaten not only the monuments but also the living traditions and cultural identities. This day is led by UNESCO and ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) and highlights the need for the immediate action to safeguard the heritage for our future generations.

The theme for the World Heritage Day 2026 is ‘Emergency Response for Living Heritage in Contexts of Conflicts and Disasters.’

The State of Meghalaya has officially recognized the Khasi and Garo as the state languages alongside with the English. As to granting official status to the languages which are spoken by the state’s largest tribes the government aims to strengthen the cultural roots along with also pushing for their inclusion in to the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India.

The major shift occurred in the billionaire ranking as the Chairman of Adani group Gautam Adani has overtaken the Mukesh Ambani to become the richest person in the Asia. As per the latest data net worth of the Adani has reached $92.6 billion and it surpassed the Mukesh Ambani’s $90.8 billion. This rise in the net worth comes after the strong hike in the Adani Group stocks.
