World Television Day is celebrated every year on November 21 to underscore the role of television as a vital medium of communication. The theme for World Television Day 2024 is “Accessibility”, emphasizing the importance of making television content inclusive and accessible to diverse audiences.

National Philosophy Day, also recognized globally as World Philosophy Day, is celebrated every year on the third Thursday of November. This day highlights the profound influence of philosophy in shaping human thought, fostering critical discourse, and addressing contemporary global challenges. In 2024, this day is observed on  21st November. Established by UNESCO in 2002, the occasion underscores the importance of philosophy in promoting intercultural dialogue and questioning assumptions that underpin human understanding.

Theme for 2024

While the specific theme for 2024 is yet to be announced, it is expected to align with UNESCO’s mission of using philosophy as a tool for peace-building, ethical governance, and social cohesion.

Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) and the International Kho Kho Federation have announced that the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup will take place in India in 2025. The event will witness the participation of 24 countries from 6 continents and will feature 16 men’s and as many as women’s teams. Ahead of the World Cup, the KKFI plans to take the sport to 200 schools across 10 cities to promote the sport. The federation will also run a membership drive for the school students with the aim of registering at least 50 lakh players ahead of the mega tournament.

The defending champion Indian women’s hockey team defeated the 2024 Paris Olympic silver medalist China to win the 8th Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024. With this win, India has equalled South Korea’s record of winning the Trophy three times. India has previously won the title in 2016 and 2023. The final of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 was played at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar.
