National Commission for Protection of Child Rights Celebrates 19th Foundation Day
On March 12, 2024, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) celebrated its 19th Foundation Day at the Jacaranda Hall, Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi. To mark this special occasion, the Commission invited children from different parts of the country to acknowledge their efforts and participation in the Commission’s Pariksha Parv campaign. Chairpersons and Members from all the State Commissions for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCRs) were also invited to attend the event. During the foundation day program, the various State Commissions shared their good practices, experiences, and highlighted the new initiatives they have taken in their respective states.
Poshan Pakhwada 2024 from 9th to 23rd March
The Ministry of Women and Child Development will organize Poshan Pakhwada nationwide from March 9 to March 23, 2024. This 15-day celebration aims to spread awareness about nutrition, dietary practices, and women’s health.
Poshan Pakhwada 2024 Theme
The main focus theme’s for activities and awareness during Poshan Pakhwada 2024 will be:
- Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi (PBPB) – Promoting better Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE)
- Tribal, Traditional, Regional, Local dietary practices – Sensitizing about nutrition
- Health of pregnant women & Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices

Mr. Srinivasan Swamy Receives 2024 IAA Golden Compass Award

Indian Writer Amitav Ghosh Awarded Prestigious Erasmus Prize 2024
The Praemium Erasmianum Foundation has awarded the Erasmus Prize 2024 to the Indian writer Amitav Ghosh. He receives this prestigious honour for his passionate contribution to the theme “imagining the unthinkable,” in which he explores the unprecedented global crisis of climate change through his literary works.

Simdega District Hosts First-Ever Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela
For the first time, the district of Simdega in Jharkhand is hosting the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela, a national-level agricultural science fair. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sutherland Named ICC Players of the Month for February 2024
Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young Indian opener, has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2024. Justice Satyendra Kumar Singh Sworn in as New Lokayukta of Madhya Pradesh

New Scorpion Species with 8 Eyes and Legs Found in Thailand
Researchers have made an exciting discovery – a previously unknown scorpion species with 8 eyes and 8 legs in Thailand’s Kaeng Krachan National Park. During a wildlife expedition in the park, located near the Tenasserim Mountain Range, a team of researchers stumbled upon this new scorpion species hidden under a rock while camping. They studied three adult males and one adult female of this species and published their findings in the journal ZooKeys.
