69th National Film Awards 2023 Winners List Announced

The winners of the 69th National Film Awards were announced at the National Media Center in New Delhi. In a glittering ceremony, the winners of the 69th National Film Awards were revealed. The Allu Arjun was awarded for the Best Actor for the film Pushpa while the Best Actress Award was presented to Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon for their films Gangubai Kathiawadia and Mimi respectively. The Best Feature Film Award was presented to The Nambi Effect. The Kashmir Files won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration.

Khelo India Women’s League officially be known as Asmita Women’s League

Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur has announced that the Khelo India Women’s League will officially be known as Asmita Women’s League. ASMITA refers to Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women Through Action. The Asmita Portal serves as a comprehensive resource, offering valuable insights into upcoming leagues among other features. It will enable any school, college, government, or private organization to host the ‘Asmita Women’s League’ and be part of Khelo India’s march towards sporting excellence.

Chess World Cup 2023 Final: India’s Praggnanandhaa finishes 2nd

Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa finished second in FIDE World Cup. After three days and four games of intensely nervy chess across two formats, Magnus Carlsen finally managed to win the FIDE World Cup for the first time in his career. Carlsen defeated Praggnanandhaa in the final, but not before the 18-year-old teenage had dragged him through the tie-breaker. Carlsen’s win was confirmed after the second game of the tiebreaker. The two players had played out one draw each. Praggnanandha, who turned 18 during the World Cup, was the youngest World Cup finalist ever, and is the youngest World Cup winner. Seeded 31, Pragg is also the lowest seed to make the final of the World Cup. Praggnanandhaa became a GM at the age of 12. He was going strong before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, which brought the world to a standstill. But the Chennai teenager made the most of it, homing his skills in online tournaments.

PS Sreedharan Pillai Released Three New Books on Nature, Trees, and Geopolitics

Goa governor PS Sreedharan Pillai released three books at a function held at the Raj Bhavan. His recently authored three new books namely ‘Heritage Trees of Goa’, ‘When Parallel Lines Meet’, and ‘Ente Priya Kavithakal‘ (‘My Dear Poems’ a collection of poems). Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the event in Panaji, Goa. West Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose unveiled the book ‘Heritage Trees of Goa’, while Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the event. Goa state minister for tourism Rohan Khaunte and Jnanpith winner Damodar Mauzo released two other books:  ‘When Parallel Lines Meet’ and ‘Ente Priya Kavitakal’.
