Every year on July 26, India observes Kargil Vijay Diwas to commemorate the brave hearts of the Indian Army and celebrate the victory of the Indian Armed Forces over Pakistan during the 1999 Kargil Conflict. This day holds significant importance in India’s military history, marking the successful conclusion of Operation Vijay.

World Embryologist Day, or World IVF Day is celebrated every year on July 25. It gives us a chance to recognise the amazing work that embryologists from the past and present have accomplished. This day honours their contributions to the field of reproductive medicine, particularly in vitro fertilisation (IVF), which has helped countless individuals and couples realise their goal of becoming parents. July 25 was chosen as World IVF Day because it is the birthday of Louise Brown, the first baby ever born through in vitro fertilisation (IVF).

The Indian Army contingent has embarked on its journey to participate in the multinational military exercise KHAAN QUEST 2024. This prestigious event is scheduled to take place from 27th July to 9th August 2024 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The exercise serves as a platform for military forces worldwide to collaborate and enhance their peacekeeping capabilities. KHAAN QUEST has a rich history dating back to 2003. It initially began as a bilateral event between the United States and Mongolian Armed Forces.

In a significant achievement for India’s naval capabilities and the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) successfully launched the first indigenous P1135.6 Frigate, named Triput. This marks the first time these vessels are being constructed indigenously in India. Triput is the first of two P1135.6 Class Frigates being built at GSL.

Paris 2024 Olympic Games: With the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games scheduled to begin this weekend, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on July 24 announced that Nita Ambani, has been re-elected unanimously as the IOC from India at the 142nd session. Nita is the founder of Reliance Foundation and won unanimously with 100 per cent of the vote.

President Droupadi Murmu changed the names of Rashtrapati Bhavan’s halls on July 25, 2024. “Durbar Hall” became “Ganatantra Mandap” and “Ashok Hall” became “Ashok Mandap.” This choice fits with a plan to highlight Indian cultural beliefs and show how important India is as a Republic. The word “Durbar” used to refer to the courts of Indian rulers when they were ruled by Britain. It stopped being used after India got its independence. The new names emphasize the change from a colonial to a republican identity, which emphasizes Indian ancestry.

India has made great progress in protecting forests. From 2010 to 2020, 266,000 hectares of new forest will be added each year. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), this makes India the third country in the world in terms of forest area growth. China and Australia lead the rankings, having increased their forest areas by 1,937,000 and 446,000 hectares respectively. Other countries in the top ten include Chile, Vietnam, Turkey, the United States, France, Italy, and Romania.
