Every year on 10th December, the world observes Human Rights Day to commemorate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948. Human Rights Day 2025 reinforces the universal commitment to protecting the dignity, liberty, and equality of every individual, regardless of nationality, class, gender, or identity. Governments, civil society, academic institutions, and communities come together to organize campaigns and discussions that deepen awareness about fundamental rights and the responsibilities that accompany them. The theme for 2025—“Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials”

Anant Ambani Becomes Youngest Recipient of Global Humane Society’s Animal Welfare Award

Anant Ambani, the founder of Vantara, has made history by becoming the youngest recipient and first Asian to be awarded the Global Humanitarian Award for Animal Welfare by the Global Humane Society. The award was presented at an international wildlife conservation event, recognizing Ambani’s groundbreaking efforts in transforming animal care and conservation in India and beyond. The Global Humane Society—the international extension of the American Humane Society, the world’s oldest animal welfare organisation—described Ambani’s work as “a new global benchmark for compassion in action.”.  At the heart of this recognition is Vantara, a state-of-the-art animal welfare and conservation facility founded by Anant Ambani. Located in India, Vantara is described as “more than a rescue centre—it is a sanctuary of healing.”
