26th Edition of Hornbill Festival Takes Place in Nagaland, December 1–10

The 26th Hornbill Festival began on 1st December at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama, Kohima, coinciding with Nagaland’s Statehood Day. This ten-day festival brings together all major Naga tribes to celebrate their rich traditions, music, dance, crafts, and local food. Over the years, the Hornbill Festival has become one of India’s most famous cultural events. The festival’s opening ceremony started at 4:00 PM at Unity Plaza, Kisama. The Governor of Nagaland, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, hosted the event. Visitors enjoyed performances, traditional dances, and other cultural showcases during the inaugural day.

Sanchar Saathi Mandatory in All Phones

The Government has instructed all smartphone makers to pre-install the Sanchar Saathi app on every new device sold in India. It also wants the app pushed to older phones through software updates, ensuring the app remains visible, active, and cannot be removed or disabled by users. Companies must comply within 90 days and submit reports within 120 days. According to the Government, the move is meant to protect users against rising telecom cyber threats, such as fake IMEI numbers and fraudulent mobile connections. The app is being promoted as a tool to block stolen phones, detect misuse, and improve telecom security.
