International Day of Sign Languages 2025

In 2025, the observance continues to emphasize inclusive communication with the theme: “Sign Language Unites Us”, underlining how sign languages bridge gaps and foster belonging in diverse societies. Recognized by the United Nations, IDSL is especially relevant to students and educators seeking to understand issues of accessibility, inclusion, and the right to language.

Ayurveda Day 2025

Ayurveda Day is a national observance dedicated to highlighting the timeless relevance of Ayurveda, India’s ancient system of holistic medicine. In 2025, for the first time, Ayurveda Day will be celebrated on 23rd September instead of Dhanteras. This historic shift, announced through a Gazette Notification by the Ministry of Ayush on 23rd March 2025, ensures consistency and enhances Ayurveda’s global visibility. The theme for 2025, “Ayurveda for People and Planet,”

Project Vijayak Celebrates 15th Raising Day in Kargil

Marking 15 years of dedicated service, Project Vijayak of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) recently celebrated its 15th Raising Day in Kargil, Ladakh. Established in 2010, the project plays a vital role in building and maintaining strategic roads in high-altitude areas of Ladakh, contributing to both defence preparedness and regional development. Named after the historic Operation Vijay—India’s military operation during the Kargil War of 1999—the project reflects both strategic symbolism and operational necessity in the sensitive border areas.

CDS Inaugurates First Tri Services Academia Technology Symposium (T-SATS)

Marking a significant milestone in India’s defence innovation ecosystem, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan inaugurated the inaugural Tri Services Academia Technology Symposium (T-SATS) on 22nd September 2025 at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. The event is a first-of-its-kind initiative to bring together the Indian Armed Forces, academic institutions, and R&D organisations to collaboratively build next-generation, indigenous technologies for national security. Themed “Vivek va Anusandhan se Vijay” (Victory through Wisdom and Research).

ICGS Adamya, First Adamya-Class Fast Patrol Vessel, Commissioned at Paradip Port

Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Adamya’, the first of the eight Adamya-class Fast Patrol Vessels, was commissioned into the Indian Coast Guard at Paradip Port, Odisha.

The 51-meter vessel, designed and built indigenously by Goa Shipyard Limited, showcases ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ with over 60% indigenous content, strengthening India’s maritime capabilities.

Dr. V. Mohan Receives Inaugural Diabetes Global Impact Prize 2025 in Vienna

Dr V. Mohan, diabetologist and chairman of Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre and Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, was awarded the inaugural Diabetes Global Impact Prize 2025 by the European Association for the Study of Diabetes at its 61st Annual Conference in Vienna, Austria. He is the first recipient of this prestigious award, recognizing his decades-long contributions to diabetes healthcare, research, education, training, charity, awareness, and policy in India.

Mithun Manhas Set to Become New BCCI President

Mithun Manhas, former Delhi captain, is set to become the new BCCI president, emerging as the sole nominee after the filing deadline. Raghuram Bhat, former India spinner and current Karnataka State Cricket Association head, is expected to be appointed as BCCI treasurer. Manhas has extensive experience in cricket administration, coaching IPL franchises, working with Bangladesh U-19, and serving on BCCI sub-committees; he played 157 first-class matches scoring 9,714 runs.

Ahmednagar Railway Station Renamed ‘Ahilyanagar’ in Honour of Ahilyabai Holkar

In a move steeped in historical and cultural significance, the Ahmednagar Railway Station in Maharashtra has been officially renamed ‘Ahilyanagar’, paying tribute to Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, one of India’s most revered women rulers. The renaming aligns the railway station’s identity with the recent renaming of Ahmednagar district and reflects growing public sentiment for preserving India’s indigenous legacy.
