India has successfully test-fired Bhargavastra, an indigenous advanced weapon system designed to counter the increasing threat of drone swarms in modern warfare. Developed by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL), Bhargavastra integrates hard-kill and soft-kill technologies, allowing precise targeting and neutralization of enemy drone swarms. This multi-layered system marks a significant enhancement in India’s defence capabilities, especially in protecting critical infrastructure and military installations.

Justice B.R. Gavai Sworn In as 52nd Chief Justice of India

Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai takes oath as the 52nd Chief Justice of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan, succeeding Justice Sanjiv Khanna. Born on 24th November 1960 in Amravati, Justice Gavai began his legal career in 1985 and became a permanent Judge of the Bombay High Court in 2005. He was elevated to the Supreme Court in May 2019, and over six years, served on around 700 Benches, handling cases related to constitutional, civil, criminal, and commercial laws.

World’s First Commercial-Scale E-Methanol Plant Begins Operations in Denmark

On May 13, 2025, Denmark inaugurated the world’s first commercial-scale e-methanol production plant in Kasso, signaling a major leap forward in sustainable energy and green shipping fuels. The facility, developed by European Energy and Mitsui, will produce 42,000 metric tons of e-methanol annually using renewable energy and captured CO₂, aiming to reduce carbon emissions in the global shipping industry.
