The World will celebrate International Women’s Day 2026 on March 8. Which is a global occasion dedicated to recognizing the achievements and contributions of women in society. This annual event highlights women’s role in various fields such as education, politics, science, sports and business. Along with promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. The theme for International Women’s Day 2026 is “Give To Gain”. It will be focuses on encouraging cooperation, fairness, and support for women’s progress.

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah completed 500 wickets in international cricket. This achievement come during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal against England. The achivement come at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai when Bumrah dismissed England captain Harry Brook on the first ball of his spell.  The wicket helped Jasprit Bumrah reach the 500 international wickets milestone. The Indian Army has appointed the Lt Gen Pushpendra Pal Singh as the next General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of Western Command. He will assume the position at Chandimandir headquarters at the end of the month following the retirement of Lt Gen M K Katiyar. He is Currently serving as the Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) since July 31 2025.  Lt Gen Pushpendra Pal Singh brings extensive operational and leadership experience.’

In the Karnataka Budget 2026 The State government proposed a social media ban. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the government plans to ban social media use for children under the age of 16. This proposed to protect them from harmful online content and digital addiction. The move makes Karnataka the first Indian state to propose such a restriction. The proposal comes amid growing global concerns about the mental health impact of excessive social media use in children.

Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, announced the renaming of three historic cities as part of the state government’s decolonisation drive. Mount Abu will be renamed Abu Raj, while Kaman and Jahazpur will be renamed Kamvan and Yagyapur, respectively. The government said the move aims to honour local sentiments and revive the traditional and cultural heritage of the region.
