World Peace and Understanding Day 2026 will be observed on 23 February 2026 commemorating the first Rotary meeting held in Chicago in 1905. That historic gathering laid the foundation of Rotary International, one of the world’s largest humanitarian service networks. Celebrated during World Understanding Month, the day promotes global peace, ethical leadership, and international cooperation. It reminds societies that sustainable peace requires justice, dialogue, empathy, and collaborative action across communities and nations.

Pramod Bhagat Wins SL3 Gold at BWF Para World Championships
India’s Pramod Bhagat won the men’s SL3 gold medal at the BWF Para World Championships in Bahrain, defeating Indonesia’s Muhammad Al Imran in straight games (21-12, 21-18). The 37-year-old secured his fourth consecutive singles gold and sixth overall world title in the SL3 category, surpassing Lin Dan to become the most decorated singles champion in world championship history across the sport.

The 6th National Rafting Championship, “The Ultimate River Battle,” has commenced at Shibnote in Doda district, Jammu & Kashmir, aiming to showcase top rafting talent and promote adventure tourism in the region. Norway sets a new Winter Olympics record with 17 gold medals at the 2026 Games
At the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics 2026, Norway set a new record by winning 17 gold medals, surpassing its previous best of 16 at Beijing 2022. The milestone came after Johannes Dale-Skjevdal secured gold in the men’s 15km biathlon mass start with flawless shooting. Norway’s dominance in winter sports continues, especially in biathlon and Nordic events. PM Modi Inaugurates India’s First Namo Bharat RRTS Launched On This Corridor
Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India’s first Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) and dedicated the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor to the citizens on 22 February 2026 in Meerut. The project marks the first time in India about that a rapid rail and metro service operate from the same station and on the same track. The Prime Minister described the as a new era of world class infrastructure for Uttar Pradesh and the country.
Rekha Gupta Launches India’s First AI-Driven CM Shri School in Delhi
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta inaugurated the first CM Shri School at Sarojini Nagar, launching what is described as India’s first AI-driven comprehensive education model, with foundation stones laid for 75 such schools across Delhi. The CM Shri Schools focus on modern infrastructure and academic excellence, targeting students from economically weaker and middle-income families, with the goal of making Delhi’s children globally competitive through advanced teaching methods and upgraded facilities.
