National Women’s Day 2026 India

India celebrates Sarojini Naidu Birth Anniversary every year on 13 February to honour one of the most inspiring leaders of the freedom struggle and a powerful voice for women empowerment. World Radio Day 2026

World Radio Day 2026 will be observed on February 13, celebrating radio as a powerful public service medium. The day commemorates the establishment of United Nations Radio in 1946. This year’s theme, “Radio and Artificial Intelligence: AI is a tool, not a voice,” highlights how technology can support broadcasting without replacing the human touch. In India, from All India Radio (AIR) to community radio stations, radio continues to inform, educate and connect millions across urban and rural regions.

Darwin Day is observed annually on 12 February to commemorate the birth anniversary of Charles Darwin, the British naturalist who proposed the theory of evolution by natural selection. The day highlights the importance of scientific thinking, rational inquiry, and evidence-based understanding in explaining natural phenomena. Shikhar Dhawan Appointed Brand Ambassador for Inaugural Delhi Khel Mahakumbh 2026

Former Indian cricketer and Arjuna Awardee Shikhar Dhawan has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador of the inaugural Delhi Khel Mahakumbh by the Government of Delhi. The Delhi Khel Mahakumbh will be held on 13 February 2026 across 16 locations covering all 12 districts of Delhi.

India Named ‘Country of the Year’ at BIOFACH 2026 in Germany

India has been designated ‘Country of the Year’ at BIOFACH 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for organic products, held in Nuremberg, Germany. India’s participation at the event is being coordinated by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) to promote the country’s organic agri-exports. Five GI-tagged rice varieties—Indrayani, Navara, Gobindbhog, Red Rice, and Chak Hao (Black Rice)—will be highlighted, along with live food tastings
