The Manipuri coming-of-age film “Boong” has achieved a significant milestone for Indian regional cinema by earning a nomination at the “BAFTA Awards 2026”. Backed by actor-producer “Farhan Akhtar”, the film has been recognised in the Best Children’s and Family Film category, marking rare global acknowledgement for a Manipuri-language production. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the nominations on January 27, 2026. “Boong” stands alongside international titles such as “Arco”, “Lilo & Stitch”, and “Zootropolis 2” in the competitive children’s and family segment.
Padma Shri 2026 Honours ISRO Propulsion Pioneer Dr Muthunayagam
Veteran space scientist Dr A. E. Muthunayagam has been awarded the Padma Shri in 2026 for his seminal contributions to Science and Engineering. Widely regarded as the architect of India’s liquid rocket propulsion programme, his work laid the technological foundations for the country’s most reliable launch vehicles and strengthened India’s position as a major spacefaring nation.

The study, released by Avtar, assessed 125 cities across India; Bengaluru secured the highest City Inclusion Score of 53.29, followed by Chennai (49.86) and Pune (46.27), with Hyderabad and Mumbai completing the top five.
