Lt Sudha Becomes First Northeasterner to Win NCC Gold
Lieutenant K M Sudha has created history by becoming the first individual from India’s Northeast to secure a gold medal at a prestigious National Cadet Corps officers’ training event. The achievement marks a significant milestone for the region’s representation in national-level defence training and leadership programmes. Lt Sudha emerged as the top performer at the annual NCC event held at the Officer Training Academy in Gwalior. She competed against 127 Associate NCC Officers from across the country and was adjudged the best firer of the academy. The event, conducted for several decades, is regarded as a rigorous assessment of instructional, physical, and leadership capabilities of NCC officers.

Praveen Kumar Named BSF Chief, Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor Appointed DG ITBP
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor, a 1990-batch IPS officer of the Haryana cadre and former Haryana DGP, as Director General (DG) of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) till October 31 or until further orders. Praveen Kumar, a 1993-batch IPS officer of the West Bengal cadre, currently serving as DG, ITBP, has been appointed as Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), holding the post till September 30, 2030 or until further orders.
