Indian cinema has achieved a major milestone as Neeraj Ghaywan’s film Homebound has been shortlisted for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards (Oscars 2026). The film has advanced to the next round of voting, placing it among the final 15 shortlisted films selected from entries submitted by 86 countries and regions.

Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred Ethiopia’s highest national honour. The Great Honour Nishan of Ethiopia, during his official visit to Addis Ababa. With this, PM Modi became the first global Head of State or Head of Government to receive the prestigious award, underlining India’s growing diplomatic stature, particularly in Africa and the Global South. This honour is the 28th top foreign State award given upon to PM Modi, reflecting sustained international recognition of India’s leadership and its expanding global engagement. The Great Honour Nishan of Ethiopia is the highest civilian honour of the country.

Miyana Railway Station Receives National Energy Conservation Award 2025

A significant achievement for Indian Railways, Miyana Railway Station in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh has been honoured with the National Energy Conservation Award (NECA) 2025. The award was presented by the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day, recognising the station’s exemplary performance in energy efficiency and sustainable operations. This recognition highlights how even smaller railway stations can play a vital role in India’s broader goals of energy conservation, cost efficiency, and environmental sustainability.

‘Ponduru Khadi’ Awarded Geographical Indication (GI) Tag

A significant boost to India’s traditional handloom heritage, Ponduru Khadi, a unique handspun and handwoven cotton fabric from Andhra Pradesh. Which has been granted the Geographical Indication (GI) tag by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry. India Launches Its First 1.0 GHz, 64-bit Dual-Core Indigenous Microprocessor ‘DHRUV64’

India has marked a historic milestone in its journey towards technological self-reliance with the launch of DHRUV64. The country’s first fully indigenous 1.0 GHz, 64-bit dual-core microprocessor. Developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) under the Microprocessor Development Programme (MDP), the processor represents a significant step in strengthening India’s domestic semiconductor design ecosystem.
