Every year, November 11 is observed as National Education Day in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the nation’s first Education Minister and a key architect of modern India’s education system. The day celebrates his lifelong dedication to education, knowledge, and nation-building. The observance was first announced in September 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (now the Ministry of Education) to honor Azad’s contribution to the field of education and learning.

On 10 November 2025, India and Sri Lanka launched the 11ᵗʰ edition of Exercise Mitra Shakti at the Foreign Training Node in Belagavi, Karnataka. The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PSEB) has recommended Deepak Gupta, Director (Projects) at GAIL India, as the next Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Maharatna company, succeeding Sandeep Kumar Gupta upon his retirement in February next year. Deepak Gupta brings over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, with expertise in project and construction management and business development across the hydrocarbon value chain.

As announced by the Sports Ministry, the ambitious project proposes converting the existing stadium complex into a state-of-the-art facility that caters to multiple sports disciplines and includes dedicated lodging facilities for athletes.
